2007 Topps Sterling Analysis - Part 2
January 6th, 2008 by AlexOk, by popular demand here is part 2 of my 2007 Topps Sterling Analysis. In this part of the analysis I will list out the chances of getting specific cards when opening a box of a given player. Warning: This is the longest post in the history of the internet. Just zero in on what you want, or if you have some time to kill, read the whole thing!
Again, this is based on information found in the Topps Sterling Sell Sheet and the Topps Sterling Checklist, provided by Topps. My numbers are only as accurate as the underlying numbers from Topps. All numbers DO NOT take into account the cards that have already been pulled.

Finally, links to active auctions for player specific boxes on ebay are provided, if you want to test your luck. If not, feel free to ignore them.
Remember, the percentages shown are for boxes where the player has been revealed, not sealed brand new boxes.

This is pretty much all the information I have. Unfortunately, I can’t give you the numbers for triples, quads, 5, 6, and the 8 piece foldouts, because I don’t have the data. Any and all information you can give me about this product is greatly appreciated. After all that number crunching I’ve pretty much become obsessed with it.

I pulled a Reggie Jackson fold out 8 relic card fold-out that is also a 1/1 (no auto). Do you have odds of pulling a fold-out?

Wow great pull!! i still haven’t found any information about the odds for the 8 piece foldouts. I am assuming they are rarer than the non-foldout relic cards though. you definitely beat the odds. if i find any information about the foldouts i’ll post it here.

man, i agree topps sterling in my opinion is the most beautiful product ever. Topps has dominated u.d. with the past 2 years of these high end delivery’s. Plus you blog has been very helpful to me…expecially the sterling report, thx shaun

I just opened a box and pulled an Alex Rodriquez Quad Relic Auto 2/10 and I got a Roy Halladay 1/1 Letter Patch from the mystery pack. How much do you think they are worth? Anybody

Most if not all of the Mantle & Williams bat barrels have been pulled. I know of someone who has pulled at least 3 of these (and there are only 6 total).
